In accordance with SCIOS information sheet 2 (version 1.4: 2020-10), the maximum thermostat must be functionally tested for switching value when performing PO, PI & EBI.
Extending to the switching value is not justified in every installation. In these cases an alternative test method is necessary.
NC Engineering has chosen to do this in the following way. Multiple heating elements are connected in an aluminum block using a temperature controller, which heats the block evenly. Several diameters are available in the block to accommodate the capillary of the thermostat. By gently heating the block we gradually reach the switching value of the thermostat. Outside the temperature controller, we verify the temperature with an additional temperature measurement. NC Engineering tests newly delivered thermostats in advance for the switching value.
